Thiensville Family Health Care is pleased to welcome Dr. Seema Afsari. She is a board-certified family physician who specializes in integrative and holistic primary care. She completed her BA in Religious Studies with a minor in Global Peace and Security at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She attended Osteopathic Medical School at Touro University in Vallejo, CA, and did her residency in Metro Detroit, MI with the St. John Providence Health System (affiliated with Michigan State University).
Dr. Afsari’s approach seeks to personalize care of the whole person with attention to the root causes of dysfunction, dietary and lifestyle interventions, and compassionate self-reflection. She is an avid supporter of mind-body medicine and believes the body has a natural ability to heal itself and find balance. Her passion for integrative and comprehensive care led her to pursue additional studies in Medical Acupuncture with the Helms Medical Institute, Ayurveda for Health Practitioners, Functional Medicine Training with the Institute for Functional Medicine, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, Foundations of Herbal Medicine with Dr. Tieraona Low Dog, and more. She has also earned a certification in Plant Based Nutrition.
Dr. Afsari has recently relocated to the Milwaukee area with her husband and two boys, ages 7 and 4. She enjoys yoga, cooking, hiking, dancing, reading and spending time with her friends and family. Whether it be preventative medicine, chronic ongoing treatment, or, simply, supportive health advocacy, Dr. Afsari and Thiensville Family Health Care are committed to providing you with exceptional medical care.
